HOW TO PISS OFF YOUR ARTIST

Ink Bar has compiled this handy reference guide for those of you that have no respect for our occupation.

1) Blow off your appointment and never call.

Aside from his skill, a tattoo artist's greatest asset is his time. Time is very valuable to the artist just as it is for other people who have family, bills, and a mortgage to pay for. So go ahead and waste his time if you want to make him angry and ensure that he does not return your calls or serve you as well as he does everyone else.

2) Ignore the aftercare precautions & ruin your tattoo but expect a free touch up

We can tell when the client has been negligent or not and yes you paid good money for your tattoo       ---BUT--- WE dont like working twice for it.

3) DON'T TIP

Tipping is not expected or required but when 50% of your money goes to the house, it is certainly appreciated. It is especially appreciated when we go the extra mile for you and forgive those late arrivals, cancellations, and constant changes to your requests.

4) Bring your 3 kids and 5 extra people to watch you get inked

A tattoo shop is NO PLACE for noisy, fidgety children. Leave them at home or get a sitter please. It is ok to bring along a friend or two but artists need space and concentration to work effectively.

5) Expect your artist to know what YOU should get permanently tattooed on you

Unless your artist knows you since high school,  do not expect a total stranger to figure out what YOUR perfect design should be--EVEN if "she IS the artist".

It is extremely difficult to sift through the infinite possibilities that may or may not satisfy you. Therefore, it is wise to do some homework BEFORE you step into the studio.

6) Skip showering and fresh socks before your session

We work very close to your body and we most definitely can smell it

7) Keep changing your design up... completely...(?!)...

This drives any artist crazy because we spend ALOT of time drawing. Minor alterations are expected but total design revisions will make your artist lose interest quickly. After the 2nd or 3rd change up, we are pretty much over it and will focus on other projects. Whether you get your deposit back or not depends on how annoyed your artist got.
