How to make your tattoo artist a happy tatter

Aside from NOT doing the things mentioned in "How to PISS OFF your artist"

There ARE a few things that will earn you a very hard working and amenable artist friend for life.

1) APPRECIATION is the best COMPENSATION (...unless we're broke...)

OF COURSE we value your business and the extra cheddar you graciously pass on to us but what really makes us happy is YOUR happiness and satisfaction. We like when our work is valued and enjoyed by others. The respect and admiration keeps us working hard to improve ourselves in order to serve you better.

2) Be considerate

Just let us know asap if you can't make it to your session or will be arriving late. That way, we can book other clients or run out and grab a bite to eat.

3) Look out for us

All artists need patrons and hook ups. Our hourly rates may seem like we live a cushy life but it can be a "feast or famine" occupation. We appreciate when you recommend us to your friends and buy our other artwork. You never know what other talents we have.

4) Talk to us

We CAN talk and ink at the same time. Unless you are having one helluva bad day (or life), we do like to get to know our clients. Half the fun of being a tattoo artist is meeting new people ....but....tattooing in silence for 3 hours is kinda boring.

5) Challenge us

There are various "bread n' butter" tattoo requests that we get on a frequent basis which are pretty straight forward and don't leave much room for improvement or creativity but why choose the SAME image off of Pinterest that 1000's of other people have already seen and probably had copied before you? Maybe we have a better idea???

6) Arrive well rested and fed

It is a good idea to NOT come in for your session when you are tired or hung over (much less if you are still intoxicated). The tattoo process can be stressful to the body. Arriving in good condition lets your body tolerate the discomfort better.
